Shelmark Engineering's team includes qualified and experienced professionals with a capable, competent staff that combines efforts to provide continuity and efficiency from a projects inception to completion.  Shelmark is a respected name and has solid engineering experience with municipal, county and state projects.  We uphold a strict code of ethics and maintain a creditable working relationship with state and federal commenting and permitting agencies.

CIVIL
Shelmark Engineering's civil engineering and land development experience include property feasibility studies; land planning & design; permitting & compliance; grading & drainage plans; wastewater collection systems; and construction administration services.  Additionally, Shelmark Engineering has several projects with local municipalities and represents several Municipal Utility Districts in Galveston County.

STRUCTURAL
Shelmark Engineering's structural experience ranges from foundation systems of components in industrial facilities, bridges for municipalities, and building systems including reinforced concrete foundations, timber framing, concrete tilt-walls, metal framing and masonry walls, Many of our projects require high-wind resistance design because of their proximity to the coastline.

MARINE / COASTAL
Shelmark Engineering's marine and coastal experience includes concrete, steel, timber and vinyl bulkheads, piers, dock assessments and inspections, mooring and breasting structures, stockpile volumetric surveys, pile foundations and platforms, segmental retaining walls, marinas and wave attenuation barriers, dredging and maintenance plans, Federal and State permitting, bridges, shoreline protection systems and wetland creation / mitigation.

PERMITTING
Additionally, Shelmark Engineering has an integral knowledge of the regulatory permitting process for projects in coastal communities.  This includes Individual Permits with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers: Coastal Leases/Permits with the Texas General Land Office: Section 404 permits and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) under the Clean Water Act of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality: access driveways and right-of-ways (ROW) permits from the Texas Department of Transportation; and flood plain mitigation and design under FEMA guidelines.  Individual projects are analyzed for cost effectiveness and contructability to insure seamless execution.
